Minor spoilers ahead for the finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finale was everything it needed to be for Marvel fans. So many surprises and twists reassured Marvel fans that Phase Four is in capable hands. Unfortunately, the series is over, and the stars had to say goodbye as well as the viewers. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan took to social media to say their goodbyes to the Disney+ series.

The Disney+ series' finale spelled not only a sad moment for Marvel fans but its stars as well. It did a great job serving as a bridge between the Infinity Saga and Phase Four. But all good things must end as Anthony Mackie took to his Instagram to say his final goodbye. Check out Mackie’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier sendoff below:

Anthony Mackie was able to find the perfect blend of humor and sentimentality. The image alone will make many Marvel fans want more Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. As seen in the post, Mackie had kind words for Sebastian Stan, showcasing the brotherhood they've built up over years in the MCU. But the actor’s farewell statement was just a peek into the MCU family.

Soon after Anthony Mackie posted his goodbyes to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sebastian Stan decided to comment on the post. And in true Sebastian Stan form, the actor took the time to show his love for Mackie in a series of comments.

Of course, Sebastian Stan declared his devotion to Anthony Mackie. As evident by the duo’s interviews, the actors formed a bond that will surely last for years to come. But just like Wilson and Barnes’ time on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, their real-life bond was tested, although in a more humorous way than on the show. Within Mackie’s comment section, fellow MCU star Frank Grillo (a.k.a Crossbones) took some "offense" to the actors’ comradery:

In a fun response, Frank Grillo seemingly channeled his character in reacting to the exchange between Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. Given their MCU story, Mackie’s Sam Wilson and Stan’s Bucky Barnes fighting Grillo’s Crossbones wouldn’t be out of the question. That moment would be a nice throwback to 2016's Captain America: Civil War where Sam Wilson and Crossbones fought over a biological weapon. But with the finale, that might never happen.

Despite Frank Grillo’s playful threat, Sebastian Stan’s farewell to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier wasn’t affected by that. Stan took to his Instagram for sweet yet quirky goodbye to the Disney+ series. Check out Sebastian Stan being Sebastian Stan below:

Sebastian Stan’s image with a mannequin captured the sentiment of Marvel fans after the finale. The actor came off as wanting more of the series just like the fans. Of course, Stan tapped into his quirkiness as seen in most of his social media posts. But he managed to still give the series a nice sendoff.

With so much in play with their goodbyes, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan managed to go out with a bang just like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finale. Mackie and Stan proved their MCU brotherhood is still strong after the filming stopped. Hopefully, the show’s success will translate into Marvel giving the audience more Falcon and Winter Soldier action in Phase Four.
