Although Disney+’s The Mandalorian may be down one less spinoff, other shows set within this period of the Star Wars timeline are still in development. One of these series is Ahsoka, which will see Rosario Dawson reprise her live-action role as the fan-favorite Jedi. Though few concrete details are known about the project, reports have claimed that it will incorporate characters from past animated Star Wars series. The latest report now alleges that the show is bringing on yet another Clone Wars alum to join Ahoska Tano.

Take this with a grain of salt for now, but Ahsoka is said to be bringing a Jedi (or should I say ex-Jedi) into the picture. According to the Illuminerdi, the Disney+ show is looking to cast someone to play Star Wars: The Clone Wars character Barriss Offee. The site alleges that the show is looking to cast an actress between the ages of 20 and 30 and is reportedly hoping to tap an actress of Asian descent for the role. It’s too early to say whether Barriss Offee will actually be featured, but her presence on the show would make sense given the complex history between her and Ahsoka.

After making a live-action cameo in 2002’s Attack of the Clones, the character was brought back several years later in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. A padawan learning under Jedi Master Luminara Unduli, Barriss befriended Ahsoka early in the series. The two would end up playing a massive role in the second battle of Geonosis, and their bond would only grow after the dangerous ordeal.

Barriss, however, would eventually become disillusioned with the Jedi, believing them to be responsible for the Clone Wars. With this, she later caused a bombing at the Jedi Temple, framing Ahsoka for it in the process. Even though Offee was later outed as the real culprit, the blowback Tano faced as a result would ultimately cause her to leave the Jedi Order.

Since the end of Clone Wars, many fans have wondered what became of Barriss Offee after the fall of the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic. So having her in Ahsoka would allow the show to tie up that particular plot thread. It would be interesting to see how the series would choose to bring her back into the fold, if she does indeed appear. But regardless of the circumstances, any reunion between her and Ahsoka would likely be a tense one.

In addition to Star Wars: The Clone Wars characters, some major Rebels alums have also been linked to Ahsoka. Rumors have alleged that Mandalore native and Ghost crew member Sabine Wren could join Tano on the new show. There have even been reports that Jedi Ezra Bridger and the notorious Grand Admiral Thrawn will be featured as well, with reports even claiming that an actor has been found for Ezra. These reports would suggest that the series could be looking to resolve a major Rebels plot thread.

There’s no telling what we’ll see for sure when Ahsoka finally arrives but, if even half of these reports are true, the show would be a must-watch for the Star Wars faithful. We here at CinemaBlend will keep you posted as official updates arrive. In the meantime, The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels are available to stream on Disney+, which you can sign up for using this link.
