How Christina On The Coast's Christina Haack Says Smoking Toad Venom Changed Her Life

Christina Haack on Christina On The Coast HGTV

Christina Haack has been in the headlines a good deal in the past few years, first for the split from her now ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and then the split from her second husband (who has since moved on), Ant Anstead. The HGTV star had to juggle all that on top of being a mother and hosting her series Christina on the Coast, and understandably went through some stress. Thankfully she found some relief in it, though some may be surprised to find the relief for Haack came in the form of smoking toad venom.

Christina Haack certainly portrays a straight-laced clean lifestyle on her HGTV shows, so the news from a recent Instagram post may be a bit startling. In a post that mainly shared her journey with her new boyfriend Joshua Hall, Haack revealed that she had quite an enlightening experience smoking the venom of a bufo toad.

I met Josh when I wasn't in a state of fear or fight-or-flight … I had taken time off social, hired a spiritual coach and smoked a Bufo toad (which basically reset my brain and kicked out years of anxiety in 15 mins).

It sounds like a good deal for many, I'm sure, though before anyone starts seeking out their own toad venom to smoke, they should know it's illegal. Bufo toad venom is classified as a Schedule 1 controlled substance, and while there has been anecdotal evidence that it helps depression and anxiety, there are also plenty of risks. It seems to have helped Christina Haack, who indicated she felt more drama headed her way with the announcement that she had a new man in her life.

Some people may pass judgment on Christina Haack for her decisions, both toad- and relationship-related, but it appears the Christina on the Coast star has found peace with that. She addressed criticism past, present, and future and sent a simple message to anyone who felt it was their place to tell her how to act.

I may be a bit crazy and im definitely not perfect but I will never live my life based on other peoples judgments or opinions. We pride ourselves on never judging others and always wanting others to be happy and we wish others would have the same respect. Josh doesn’t have social media, but I want to thank him for whisking me away on a romantic tropical vacation he planned entirely on his own. So yes “another relationship” and guess what. I’m 38 -I’ll do what I want.

Christina Haack's post was accompanied by a photo of her and Joshua Hall as the two stared out at the beach from a hut. It's not entirely clear whether or not this was taken during the bufo toad experience, but ultimately, that's only a small part of a much larger story about finding acceptance and peace in a new relationship.

Christina Haack's reveal came just two days after she and Joshua Hall were spotted together at LAX, reportedly headed on a trip to Mexico for her 38th birthday. Luckily, it seems the two have had plenty of time to discuss and prepare for the moment they'd be spotted and become a new celebrity couple, so hopefully, they'll be able to navigate that with ease.

Christina on the Coast airs on HGTV Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. ET. For more on HGTV stars and the drama they face, read up on Chip and Joanna Gaines and all their thoughts about past accusations by viewers that they're racist and homophobic here.
