Breaking Bad's Dean Norris Will Star In CBS' Under The Dome

Stephen King’s 2009 novel Under the Dome features a ton of different characters and personalities. So, when CBS signed on for a television series based on King’s novel, there were plenty of roles to fill. On Thursday, Breaking Bad’s Dean Norris was added to the already lengthy list of cast members for the series.

Norris is mostly known for being a big deal DEA agent on Breaking Bad, and in Under the Dome, he’ll play used car salesman Big Jim, a man with considerable influence in the town of Chester’s Mill. When a mysterious dome appears, he’ll use the situation to his best advantage. According to THR, the role of Big Jim is a series lead.

Under the Dome follows residents living in a small town after the aforementioned dome appears over the city and traps the townspeople on the inside. What follows is chaos, as well as battles for power. CBS seems to be really behind its summer series, signing on for a 13-episode straight-to-series order. While Norris is a series lead, plenty of other actors and actresses have already been cast, including Colin Ford, Britt Robertson, Jolene Purdy, Nicholas Strong, and Aisha Hinds.

While Norris is signed on along several talented actors and actresses, he’s always been a standout in Breaking Bad, and we expect him to shine just as considerably in CBS’ new program. However, just in case this epic casting isn’t enough for you to consider watching, give the first teaser for Under the Dome a shot and see if you aren’t at least a little bit intrigued.
