First Teaser Trailer For DC's Beware The Batman

Even though we are still far from seeing Beware the Batman on television, DC, Warner Bros. and The Cartoon Network have already released a teaser poster for their new animated take on the caped crusader. The poster for the series is stark and simple, a fitting match for its protagonist. And now, the network has followed the image by releasing the first actual footage from the series with this brand new teaser trailer. Everything's a tease these days. Take a look at The Cartoon Network's Beware the Batman.

Using the same cutting edge CGI as DC's new Green Lantern TV show, this incarnation of the Dark Knight certainly looks super slick, but will it have the stories to match? The 'new' take on Batman will not only feature the iconic comic book characters, but will also incorporate some never before animated villains. Antagonists for the Bat (as well as his trusty, ex-secret agent butler Alfred and the swordstress Katana) include Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie as well as the rest of Gotham City’s criminal underworld. What did you think of the look?

The tease is also well timed despite the distant release because the the buzz surrounding 'the Batman' is about to reach an all-time high with the July release of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. It's a pretty smart move for DC to start showcasing the animated version of Bob Kane's iconic character at the same time as his big screen counterpart because well, what better way to help promote your brand new series than to attach to the biggest film franchise of the decade? No. Not Hunger Games.

Beware the Batman will hit The Cartoon Network in 2013.
