Now You Can Catch Couric On Your Cell

CBS just signed a major deal with Sprint TV service to stream a smattering of shows on mobile phones. The eye will now show a live broadcast of ‘Evening News with Katie Couric’ with video ads imbedded in the segment.

This is really good to hear because I was honestly getting tired of rushing home everyday to catch the evening news since 24/7 cable news networks haven’t been invented yet. Oh wait…I suppose this must be the network’s plan to salvage as much money as possible considering Couric has done nothing but tank in the ratings since she debuted last year in the chair formerly held temporarily by Bob Schieffer.

But according to Variety, ‘Evening News’ isn’t the only thing set to invade your cell. Joining the ranks of the mobile-friendly also is apocalypse-themed ‘Jericho’—you’ll be able to download full episodes actually. While that show hasn’t done spectacular in the ratings contest, it is the most watched on CBS’s YouTube spin-off Innertube.

Also thrown in the deal are ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,’ ‘CSI: Miami,’ ‘CSI: NY,’ ‘NUMB3RS,’ ‘NCIS’ and ‘Survivor. CBS is also working out deals with Verizon's V-Cast service as well as with Cingular.
