Even if his glory days as a teen idol are behind him, Donny Osmond is still one hard working guy in show biz these days. The “Puppy Love” crooner has just signed on to host ABC’s upcoming unscripted contest ‘The Great American Dream Vote.’
The roundup: eight contestants will reveal their life long dreams to a studio audience and explain why their dream should be made real. The contestants will then face one another as the audience votes through several rounds of elimination. When only two remain, the folks watching at home will be able to vote for whoever’s dream they believe is more deserving.
But what if your dream is just to meet Donny Osmond—wouldn’t that make you the automatic winner?
ABC hasn’t confirmed just when this new reality contest show will roll out, but the same execs behind it also did the whole ‘Bachelor’ series.
IMDB lists Donny as hosting another show set to open sometime this year—‘Name That Tune,’ an updated version of the old classic that originally aired in the 50’s. He’s also got an album coming out in April according to TV.com, and just recently finished work on Broadway as Gaston in ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ For more about Osmond, check out his official website Donny.com
