Outlander Season 2 Trailer: We Finally Have Paris Footage And It's Epic
It’s been a long time since we got new episodes of Outlander. Last year, Starz split the series into two parts, but this year, the subscription cable network has decided to wait until spring to give us Season 2 of the hit drama. The droughtlander has been long, but now we finally have some footage from Season 2 available and it’s truly everything we’ve been waiting for and more, with glimpses of Paris and a seafaring journey ahead. Do give it a watch, below.
First of all, let’s look at all of those awesome Paris-set scenes. We’ve known for a while that Paris would be a major location in Season 2, and the fashion has changed from tartan costumes to some majorly sophisticated stuff. And even if you haven’t read all of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander books at this juncture, there’s a lot of information and action revealed in this trailer. Namely, we know that Jamie and Claire are heading to Paris together and they are going to make some attempts at stopping a war from brewing in Scotland, using Claire’s knowledge of the future as a guiding compass.
However, that’s not all. In addition to the awesome views of Paris, there’s a lot of action. It looks as if Jamie will be doing a even more sword fighting this season. Then, there are shots of a battle featuring a bunch of redcoats and even a quick, vivid image of what looks to be some individuals opening fire on a carriage. (If you read the books you'll probably know what is going down, but it still looks pretty great). This is the Outlander we love, one that combines epic romance with action, swordplay and, of course, plenty of witty dialogue.
If you want more specific spoilers, here’s the official logline:
We should note that while the show has been casting for quite some time, now, we really haven’t seen a lot from the set beyond a few stills. And for those who are invested in the book series, Gabaldon, Ron Moore and the cast have all been pretty tight-lipped about the potential additions of Brianna and Roger. We do know the former was briefly listed in a casting call. However, book fans should also know that Season 2 will pick up where we left off during Season 1, rather than in the 1900s where the second novel actually picks up. So, the timeline is definitely going to change, and that can be seen in this first footage from Season 2.
Since 2016 hasn’t rolled around yet, it still feels like it is going to be a while before we get new Outlander episodes. We’ll let you know as soon as Starz reveals an official premiere date. For now, here’s what’s coming at midseason.
