Pan Am is getting a break for the next couple of weeks, but when it returns, the show may pull out some big guns hoping for a full series order. Luckily, writers on the show are thinking ahead, and will integrate a new character into the lineup when the Sunday program returns to its regular schedule on December 4. The new character, a woman, will be played by Twilight’s Ashley Greene.

Pan Am may be having a big holiday season, but so is Ashley Greene. The young actress is set to appear in Breaking Dawn: Part 1 when it opens this weekend. At the beginning of next month, she will have a three episode arc on Pan Am, playing a feisty young woman who used to be connected to co-pilot Ted, played by Michael Mosley. According to EW, the first episode Greene will appear in is titled “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.”

Pan Am hasn’t been doing horribly in the ratings, and ABC recently picked up five more scripts for the show. It even seems to be doing well internationally thus far. Maybe including a Twilight cast member into the lineup will be enough to pull in some “Twihards” and thus, some of the coveted 18-49 demographic. Maybe it won’t bring anyone new to the party but will play well with those already on board. Either way, it’s hard to argue with bringing someone as talented as Ashley Greene into the cockpit.
