Amazon Will Let You Help Solve The Murder Of Bruce Wayne's Parents

One of the most tragic crimes committed in the history of Gotham City is the untimely shooting death of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Leaving their son, Bruce, as an orphan to be raised by family friend Alfred Pennyworth, this heinous crime was only a signal of the dark future ahead for Gotham. And now, you can solve this case in a Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice audio adventure, exclusive to the Amazon Echo and Amazon Fire TVs with Alexa integration.

"The Wayne Investigation" is a new promotion that Amazon is launching on their Alexa-enabled appliances. Variety reports that the game pairs you with the voice of the Echo's various commands and functions, as you both will navigate through an experience complete with music and sound effects. The game hypothetically runs between 5 and 40 minutes long, with a maximum of 37 decisions that will be available throughout. Of course, no matter how long you've played, you can ask Alexa to present you with show-times for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice; so at least you won't be clueless about when you'll be hitting the theater.

With only 23 days until Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice's debut in theaters, Warner Bros. is going to turn the PR machine to full throttle, and "The Wayne Investigation" is actually one of the more ingenious ways of drawing fans into the hype. The death of Bruce Wayne's parents has always been a pivotal event in the world of the millionaire and his superhero alter-ego. Since Ben Affleck's Batman is going to be quite possibly the darkest and moodiest incarnation of the character, understanding the trauma of Bruce's childhood could be a key enhancement to the audience's experience with the film. More importantly, if "The Wayne Investigation" turns out to be as user-friendly and entertaining as the experience hopes to be, it will be a viral sensation among fans far and wide. Of course, this depends on one factor that could prove to be an Achilles' Heel: you need to own an Amazon Echo or Amazon Fire TV to play along.

Without either of the Amazon exclusive platforms, "The Wayne Investigation" is not accessible, which could cause fans to be a little less excited about what was shaping up to be an excellent sounding game. One would have hoped that Warner Bros and Zack Snyder would have offered the adventure as a sort of audio drama, much like Halo 5's "Hunt The Truth" campaign, but alas this piece of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice excitement is as exclusive as it gets. In other words, don't be surprised if someone rips the full audio to YouTube and gives folks the experience they'd be missing out on otherwise.

Still, if you have access to Alexa on either of the Amazon platforms that offer her services, "The Wayne Investigation" is available for you to enjoy at this moment. Just activate the Skills menu, and tell Alexa to "open The Wayne Investigation." For everyone else, Zack Snyder's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be in theaters on March 25th.
