Dakota Fanning is one of the most successful young actresses in Hollywood, even though she gives a lot of people the heebie-jeebies. Regardless, she has plenty to sing and dance about, and apparently she’s ready to prove it.
According to Variety, Fanning has signed on to star alongside David Morse and Robin Wright Penn in an upcoming untitled drama (which for some reason, is cited on IMDB as “Hounddog”.) The film, written and directed by Deborah Kampmeier (Virgin), is about a young precocious girl who, in order to escape the abuse in her life, sings and dances like Elvis.
Yes, you read that correctly. In her latest project, Fanning will come across as a pint-sized Elvis-impersonator in between beatings. Kind of gives the tune “All Shook Up” a whole new meaning. The film will take place in the South during the 1960’s, and it is currently shooting in Wilmington, NC.

Dakota Fanning impersonating Elvis?... and being beaten?? It's both embarassing and sickening just to think about, much less to go and see. Who in God's name sold her on this project and why did her agent let her take it? If this goes through, she'll probably be lucky to get on as an extra in a "Lifetime" soap opera from there on. The guy who plays her abuser might as well kiss his career goodbye as well.
And now we know that the "abuse" entails Dakota being used in a number of nude and semi-nude scenes involving child sex, incest and a brutal molestation by a teenager after she does a nude dance while singing like Elvis. What I first thought to be embarrasing has turned out to be pornographic. I'm sure that "Pecker" will enjoy it... unless it's impounded first.

this seems weird. Dakota Fanning is great, but singing? I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later.
