How Marvel Fans Can Be A Part Of Avengers: Infinity War

Shortly after Super Bowl 50 yesterday, Marvel followed in the footsteps of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice by revealing specialized Captain America: Civil War emojis for Twitter. When using specific hashtags (or as they call it, "hashflags") connected to the May blockbuster, these adorable cartoon faces appear in your tweets, and they make a nice addition to the new preview that was also released. While these are fun to simply use on their own, Twitter users can also take advantage of them to try to get into Avengers: Infinity War.

Using the Captain America: Civil War emojis, fans can build their own "Civil War" team on Twitter, be it just two heroes or as many as you can fit in 140 characters. To enter the drawing, you’ll also need to include either the hashtag #TeamCapSweepstakes or #TeamIronManSweepstakes. The big prize will be a fully-paid, four day/three night trip to Atlanta, Georgia at the end of the year to shoot a walk-on, non-speaking role in one of the Avengers: Infinity War entries, as well as a $500 gift card. Oh, and in case you’re already formulating any schemes, each participant is limited to one entry, and any attempt to use multiple accounts or screw with the system some other way may result in disqualification.

If you’ve ever been on Twitter when a big trailer is released, then you know those things trend like crazy, and Captain America: Civil War hasn’t been the exception. So using this contest certainly provides more incentive for people to show their Marvel love on Twitter. However, when making your team for the sweepstakes, you’ll have to make due without Spider-Man, as the Web-Slinger was looked over for the emoji honor. As for this walk-on role, whether it’s serving as one of Thanos’ henchman or just as a shocked civilian, getting to be in the movie would be an amazing opportunity for any Marvel Cinematic Universe enthusiast.

It will also be interesting to see if Marvel continues to release special emojis for their other big releases. Considering all the major characters who will be in Avengers: Infinity War, that would be a great option, and I think we’d all at least like to see Thanos in emoji form. Even as a tiny cartoon head, the Mad Titan won’t stop trying to seize the Infinity Stones.

Fans have until February 14 at 3:30 p.m. PST to enter this sweepstakes, and you must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. resident. The rules and list of "hashflags" can be looked over in detail here. Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 hits theaters on May 4, 2018, and Part 2 will follow on May 3, 2019.
