Iron Man 3 Gag Reel Proves Weird Things Make Tony Stark Laugh

Thor and Captain America have been getting plenty of attention as of late thanks to splashy presentations at San Diego Comic-Con and Disney’s D23 Expo that Robert Downey Jr.’s ego must be bruised. Slightly. But good news for him, shell head is soaring back onto our radars thanks to a pending home video release on September 24th. We recently shared a deleted scene from director Shane Black’s mega-hit, and now Yahoo Movies has posted a gag reel that primarily consists of RDJ laughing at the end of scenes that have broken down.

The video is very short, but it continues a parade of new Iron Man 3 footage that should be coming down the pipe between now and the Blu-ray/DVD release. Here’s the deleted scene again, which sheds a little more light on Sir Ben Kingsley’s character, The Mandarin.

These bits and pieces help remind us that Iron Man 3 is still a thing – which is a very funny thing to admit about a movie that has grossed more than $1 billion at the global box office and remains the highest-grossing film of 2013 (ahead of the animated Despicable Me 2). Such is the fate that Marvel Studios has brought down on its own shoulders, though. They can hardly make movies fast enough to feed the publicity machine that must keep churning out new information to satisfy the media and their core fanbase. Coincidentally, the Marvel movie that’s getting the most attention post-Comic-Con/D23 is James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy … even though we are almost exactly one full year away from the film’s release. It’s currently overshadowing both Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Will that stay the same for the next 12 months? Hard to tell.

Still, there are multiple scenes from Iron Man 3 that we’re looking forward to seeing again, including the Air Force One aerial rescue sequence, and the destruction of Tony Stark’s Malibu mansion. Have you reserved your copy of Black’s Iron Man 3 yet? Don’t forget, it comes with the Marvel One Shot short film Agent Carter. Bonus!
