2014 was a middling year for movies. However, for the 10 stars we're highlighting in this list, it was absolutely dismal. Find out who's hoping for a happy new year after the jump.
Yet another day in the Sony Hack scandal of 2014, and apparently the Men in Black/22 Jump Street film crossover they’d like to see happen. There's also one in store for Quentin Tarantino
Benicio Del Toro and Jamie Foxx will star in the upcoming new film from Harmony Korine, the man who directed Spring Breakers last year. The Trap will see the two acting titans play childhood friends. But after one of them spends a long period in jail he sets out for revenge on the evening that his old chum is honored for his career.
Tyson has somehow reinvented himself in the public eye, though this movie would no doubt cover a lot of the darker portions of Tyson's life. He was physically and sexually abusive towards the women in his life, he consistently injured fellow boxers in the ring, and was generally the scariest dude in the world.
That hope is particularly strong given how absolutely adorable Oscar nominee Wallis looks in this lead role and how much she deserve the lion's share of this film's promotional spotlight. At one point she sees herself on the Jumbotron and remarks, “Woah, my hair is GIGANTIC,” and it's the sort of moment that solidifies her as the only Annie you'd ever really want.

I traveled to Miami to attend the world premiere of Rio 2 and sit down with the cast. We’ll have coverage on the sequel for the rest of the week, but I wanted to start with a question I posed each celeb: Which movie soundtrack did you wear out as a kid because it reminded you of a beloved movie?
Tyrin Turner (Menace II Society) plays a man whose ability to communicate with women was stunted as a child, when he embarrassed himself in front of his schoolmates. As an adult, he apparently thinks the only way that he’ll find love is if he creates it at home, like a modern Victor Frankenstein. His monster/lover is played by Samantha Nagel (Body Shots) - or at least a mannequinized version of her.
Director Oliver Stone is no stranger to the biopic genre, having previously made Born On The Fourth of July, The Doors, Nixon, and more, and now he's getting ready to bring yet another important 20th century figure to the silver screen. The Oscar winning filmmaker is now in negotiations with DreamWorks and Warner Bros. to direct a new film about Civil Rights champion Martin Luther King Jr. What's more, Jamie Foxx is already in talks to play the lead role.
Looking at the cast list of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 it becomes clear that something is definitely brewing in the comic book movie series. Not only is Foxx playing Electro in the film, Chris Cooper is signed on to play Norman Osborn (the man who eventually becomes Green Goblin), and Paul Giamatti is also on-board to play Aleksei Sytsevich a.k.a. The Rhino.
Should she take the part, she’ll be the fourth big name involved with the project, and would take on the role of Grace, assistant to “Daddy” Warbucks, renamed Benjamin Stacks for the film and played by Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx. Any way you look at it, this is going to be a big movie for Sony.
There's a lot of competition for grabbing attention at San Diego Comic Con, but it helps to have a blue guy on your side to rise above the pack. A full two days before their Hall H panel, Sony has released a teaser video that gives us our first look at Jamie Foxx's Electro
Our minds were pretty blown yesterday when Jamie Foxx's blue-skulled Electro was revealed facing off against Spider-Man on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, one of the many splashy bits of art the magazine has debuted in advance of Comic-Con next week. Now a peek inside the magazine gives us an even better look at the villain
Katey and Sean-- who have already, full disclosure, declared their love for the movie in front of the actual White House-- try to figure it out below. Do we blame Olympus Has Fallen? The Heat? Is it all Channing Tatum's fault? Help us solve the mystery
Above you can watch my conversation with Tatum and Foxx, in which I ask them about the secret to their bromance-- it involves Foxx taking over a DJ booth at a party in Mexico-- and why Tatum risks his neck over and over again on the set to make sure that he does his own stunts. Foxx-- a smart veteran of the movie business-- says he's perfectly happy to let his stunt double earn his paycheck
Alright, people, I don't know what else we can possibly give you. It's just before the Fourth of July, and you need something to see at the movies. Roland Emmerich, the guy who brought you Independence Day is back, and he's once again blowing up the White House. And the Capitol. And he's got Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx (as the President, for God's sake!) running around trying to stop the terrorists who did it
It seems like these two guys could be attached to an adaptation of Goodnight Moon - and why wouldn’t they be? - and it would attract audiences in droves. DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way, which is becoming a mini-powerhouse, will provide non-Warner production duties.
As you can see in the video embed inside, he revealed new images of himself both as the incredibly nerdy Max Dillon, and the superpowered Electro (pre-CGI) . But one of the real reasons to watch the interview is because Foxx samples a bit of his voice after being charged with electricity. As you can hear, he is using a much lower pitch and a grumble not too dissimilar to Batman himself.
We've been pretending for months now that this February's A Good Day to Die Hard never actually happened, and it's about to get a whole lot easier to let amnesia protect the memory of John McClane. Well, really, it's Channing Tatum who will be doing it. In this new four-minute trailer for White House Down, you can see more of what's been promised by months
Star Channing Tatum showed that he has a knack for playing a funny hero with his performance in 21 Jump Street, and I have to say I enjoyed what we see from him here. The talking he does to himself before running into the library is very John McClane-esque...
Foxx is currently starring in a huge upcoming Sony tentpole, playing Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and he's of course coming off a huge star turn in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. In this updated version of the Annie story-- which originated with a Depression-era comic strip-- Foxx won't be playing Daddy Warbucks but "Benjamin Stacks,"
As an international star with box office drawing power, Smith might have seemed an obvious choice. But considering this story was of a freed slave wreaking bloody revenge against cruel plantation owners, Django was a role that would be more brutal than any Smith had taken on before. It spurred a lot of debate from movie lovers online. Could the oft-affable Smith believably play a Tarantino-level badass?
