How The Flash's Crossover Just Made The Legends Of Tomorrow Cast Bigger

The Flash just aired its part of the massive four show crossover event for DC shows on The CW, and the episode just made a pretty big change to Legends of Tomorrow. There will now be a new cast member for the Thursday night superhero show, and we got our official introduction to this new character tonight.

Let me explain. On The Flash tonight, Barry brought together Team Arrow, Supergirl and the Legends to fight the Dominators, an alien threat with mind control powers looking to rid the Earth of metahumans. In a break during their group training session, Martin Stein and Jefferson Jackson played Barry the message they found in their ship that's from Barry 40 years in the future. Barry then had to explain to them how he went back in time and Flashpointed the current timeline, changing many lives forever. After their conversation, Stein had visions of a little girl growing up. And, here's where that new Legends of Tomorrow cast member comes in, because, now, Stein has a grown daughter waiting back home for him, along with the wife that we've seen on the show several times.

According to a report from Deadline, actress Christina Brucato will be joining Legends of Tomorrow in the recurring role of Martin Stein's daughter, Lily. We got our first look at the character on The Flash. When Stein goes home to see his wife, he's met at the door by Lily. She calls him dad, and after a momentary pause of confusion, he then smiles and embraces his brand new grown child with open arms. Wow, between Flashpoint and what the Legends have to deal with on a regular basis, it's pretty clear that we should leave time travel the hell alone.

Christina Brucato has a resume that goes back to 1995, when she appeared in the film Welcome to the Dollhouse. Since then she's been in a wide variety of projects, mostly television shows and short films. Brucato has made appearances in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Blue Bloods, The Americans, The Carrie Diaries, Unforgettable and Forever. Most recently, she's been seen on Chicago Med and as Young Lolly on the most recent season of Orange is the New Black.

Well, now that Martin Stein has a daughter in this new Flashpoint infused timeline, maybe we'll get to see some heartwarming father and daughter moments with the scientist and his kid. Stein has always been one of the more serious characters on the time travel show, so it's even possible that this new bit of familial joy will lighten him up a bit. We can see how this casting change affects Legends of Tomorrow when the series airs Thursdays on The CW.
