The Arrow Character Caity Lotz Wants To See On Legends Of Tomorrow

Comic shows are all the rage on television nowadays, and The CW has the most expansive superhero universe on television. Oliver Queen kicked things off with Arrow in 2012 and spun Barry Allen off to The Flash in 2014. New spinoff Legends of Tomorrow will pull its cast from the ranks of both Arrow and The Flash. Sara Lance will be a major Arrow contribution, and actress Caity Lotz has an idea about who else she’d like to see jump from Arrow to Legends: Nyssa al Ghul.

I would love for her to be [on Legends], and hopefully that will happen.

Legends of Tomorrow may already have a packed ensemble, but Caity Lotz's idea, that she shared with TVLine, of bringing Nyssa over from Arrow for an appearance is brilliant.

Sara may have spent more time with Oliver Queen than with any of the other characters on Arrow, but Sara’s relationship with the assassin who saved her life has had a major impact on the show ever since Katrina Law’s first appearance as Nyssa. Nyssa was a major character in Sara’s life and a main player in dealing with her death. It would only be fitting for Nyssa to appear on Legends so that she can have a part in Sara’s rebirth as well.

Nyssa al Ghul

Besides, when Nyssa was last seen on Arrow, she was being hustled off to the dungeons of Nanda Parbat for destroying the resurrecting properties of the Lazarus Pit after she saw the soulless creature that had been her beloved emerge from its depths. Nyssa deserves to see Sara with her soul again.

Of course, thanks to the time traveling of Legends of Tomorrow, it would be possible for Katrina Law to appear not as a present Nyssa but rather as a flashback Nyssa from the days after she rescued Sara and brought her to Nanda Parbat. Flashback Nyssa wouldn’t exactly give the character any closure from the Sara resurrection fiasco, but seeing more of Sara’s origin story on Legends would be fantastic.

Seeing Sara and Nyssa fight side-by-side again wouldn’t hurt either. Caity Lotz and Katrina Law always complemented each other exceptionally well in the emotional character scenes as well as in the action sequences. With Nyssa only a recurring character on Arrow, and time travel being in play on Legends, there are plenty of ways that Law could be written in for a guest appearance. Legends of Tomorrow may not exactly be the sort of show that could allow for a long-distance relationship between assassin girlfriends, but at least some closure for Sara and Nyssa would be welcome.

Arrow returns from its winter hiatus on January 20 at 8 p.m. ET, and the series premiere of Legends of Tomorrow will air on January 21 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. For a look at when all of your other favorite shows will be hitting the airwaves in 2016, check out our midseason TV premiere schedule.
