Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 4 Is Happening

It’s difficult to fathom a better era for television than right now. The last few years have seen an insane influx in high quality program, and networks seem to have finally wised up. We’ve reported on numerous renewals in recent weeks, and that awesome train has yet to slow down. Now it seems FOX sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine will be the latest hit series to receive another season.

We’ve just learned that FOX has renewed their hit police-comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a fourth season. This news officially wins the award for least surprising revelation of the day, because the series has become one of the most beloved contemporary comedies currently available on television. Although funny cops has become a fairly well-travelled road over the years, Brooklyn Nine-Nine manages to keep the formula fresh enough to draw in a substantial weekly audience.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s stellar cast further bolsters this appeal. From Andy Samberg, to Terry Crews, to Joe Lo Truglio, one could argue that the FOX sitcom boats arguably one of the most likeable comedic ensembles in recent memory. The ensemble only continues to get better as well, as the series has regularly introduced new character portrayed by modern comedy greats, such as Andy Samberg’s frequent collaborator Bill Hader.

FOX overall seems to be on a roll lately. In addition to the recent renewal of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the network also recently revealed that they have renewed their post-apocalyptic comedy The Last Man on Earth, which stars Saturday Night Live alumni Will Forte.

Additionally, the network has been digging through their extensive archive of beloved series, and seems primed to become the go-to source for television revivals in the near future. From the recent X-Files reboot, to the upcoming 24 and Prison Break revivals, we wholeheartedly expect some downright amazing things from FOX on the horizon.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine shares numerous comedic sensibilities with other modern classics such as 30 Rock as well as Parks and Recreation, which is obviously why it has managed to do so well with audiences.
