The CW Renews Breaking Pointe And Oh Sit! For Season 2

Despite my personal belief that the CW’s docu-drama Breaking Pointe can’t compete with ABC Family’s scripted series, Bunheads, The CW has renewed its summer reality series for a second season. That’s not all in CW unscripted TV news, however. The network has also greenlighted the musical chairs-oriented game show, Oh Sit! for Season 2.

Dancing can be pretty dramatic, and seeing how the Salt Lake City ballet company, Ballet West, handles business is no exception. The series follows a group of men and women (mostly in their twenties) who are balancing their dedication to the company with their dedication to their personal lives. I think it would be cool if the series hopped around and looked at the inner workings of different ballet companies, but for the sake of character recognition, Season 2 will stick with Ballet West.

Oh Sit!, on the other hand, is a much goofier program, which follows 12 contestants hopping around and doing various challenges to reach a chair. Like musical chairs, there is a live band playing, and music stoppage signals the end of the challenge. The show is timed so that one person will be left with a chair at the end of the hour, and will win a prize. Oh Sit! premiered in August of 2012, and despite averaging less than a million viewers per episode, the hour-long game show will also be getting a second season. It’s amazing the shelf life shows can have when they are relatively cheap to produce.

The CW is still working out the kinks on potential release dates, as well as episode count, but TV Blend will keep you posted.
