Hitman: World Of Assassination Brings Season One Content Into Hitman 2
IO Interactive's Hitman made a comeback in 2016 as an episodic release. The game contained a number of different locations, each with their own mission contracts, side-missions, and Elusive Targets. The game was well received for its gameplay and missions, but it was derided by fans for the episodic nature of its release, which spanned from 2016 into 2017. IO Interactive decided to take a different approach with Hitman 2, which will combine everything from the first season of Hitman into Hitman 2. The team is calling it the "World of Assassination," which contains all of the missions from the first season jam packed into a single package of Hitman 2.
In the announcement, IO Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are referring to the collection as the Hitman Legacy Pack. This contains all six of the previously released locations, including Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Colorado, and Hokkaido. All of the levels and the missions contained within the levels will be accessible via DLC, and will also include integration into the new systems and mechanics that IO created for Hitman 2.
Some of these new systems include the all new foliage system that you can use to hide Agent 47 in, along with the all new strategic use of mirrors, and the added weapons and gadgets such as the briefcase, the dart gun, the flash grenades, and the new difficulty settings.
The best part about it is that the Legacy Pack from the first season will be available to all owners of the previous game for free. So, if you own the first season of Hitman and you purchase Hitman 2, you'll be eligible for downloading the DLC for free.
This is definitely a strong incentive to lure gamers back into the fold and strike up some interests within the upcoming release of the second game. I'm sure IO Interactive is also keen on capitalizing from the breakup with Square Enix in order to make back some bank by including all of the previously released content into the sequel to make it look like a worthwhile purchase for both newcomers and franchise enthusiasts alike.
Some of the features and content are also covered in a gameplay trailer for the game that was recently released.
And, not only that, but Warner Bros., and IO are also hosting a Hitman 2 competition ahead of the game's release. The rules of the contest are laid out over on the official website, where those willing to participate can do so. You will need a valid PSN, Steam or Xbox Live account to join in.
