If you're looking for a new superhero game, GTA 5 might be your best bet. One of the earliest mods for the game's PC version allows you to give your characters super speed and strength.
The creator of the mod, Lingon, released a trailer showing off the super strength option. It allows you to punch vehicles so hard that they're thrown hundreds of feet down the road:
Cooljunkgaming released an even better showcase of this super-punch. He used his thrown cars like bowling bars to take out entire traffic jams or squads of cop cars all at once. The video has some slow-mo replays as well so you can see all the little visual details, like a car door splitting off one of the vehicles and clotheslining a nearby cop.
This mod really makes great use of the game's ragdoll physics and vehicle destruction. I doubt punching a car through an intersection will ever get old.
The super speed feature for the mod is a little less impressive. Yes, you can run really fast but it doesn't seem to be affecting the aim of NPCs too much. It makes finding cars to punch easier though so I can't really complain:
I hope that we see a few more super powers added to the game soon. A flying or super jump mod would be appreciated considering how big GTA 5's world is. And once we've got the basic powers down, maybe players will start adding actual superheroes. GTA 4 mods let players become the Hulk and Iron Man, among others. In time, I imagine we'll see players making their own Avengers movies with the film editor included with GTA 5 on PC.
