Grim Dawn, Diablo 3's Rival, Heads Into Alpha Testing

Remember that game that had everyone's chest hairs standing on edge (even the ladies, too)? Well, that game...the one that made a big splash during the epic fail known as the Diablo III launch fiasco, has finally entered the alpha testing stage.

Gamers who have pledged funds for the game during its Kickstarter run are now able to get into the gritty new ARPG, which carries a dark sense of visual style and skill-based play mechanics.

Crate Entertainment made the news clear about the alpha testing on their Kickstarter blog, with a hilarious intro that later go right down to business, with them writing...

Steam keys for Grim Dawn alpha will appear in your Humble Store pages for Grim Dawn later today and the build will become available to download on Steam tomorrow between 10am and 12pm Eastern Time. To obtain the build, simply retrieve your Steam alpha key from Humble Store and then add it to your game library on Steam using “Add a Game” in the lower left under the game list. From there, select “Activate a Product on Steam” and a box will appear that will let you enter your key. The game will then appear in your library and begin downloading. Once the download is complete, you can install and play.

I'm sure there are plenty of gamers out there asking “How the heck do I get in on the alpha?” Well, you can't...unless you pledged toward the development of Grim Dawn. But don't worry, there are still plenty of other games to diddle around with during the summer while the grim ARPG takes on a life of its own and heads toward completion.

You can keep up to date on the game by staying tuned in with the Kickstarter page or on the official Grim Dawn website.
