Lifeless Planet Launching Later This Year

Lifeless Planet PAX Gameplay Trailer from David Board on Vimeo.

The Kickstarted game, Lifeless Planet, which sees players exploring an atmospherically hazardous and seemingly lifeless planet, has been announced as a 2013 release. The developer has finally dropped word on when gamers can expect the crowd-funded title to release.

picked up the news from German site GBase, where Stage 2 Studios' lead designer who noted that...

"My goal with Lifeless Planet is to build a game that puts the adventure back into 'action-adventure.' I grew up loving games like Out of this World, The Dig, and ICO, and I want to create a gaming experience in the spirit of these true action-adventure games. Don't get me wrong: 3D is good. Platforming is good. But I love games that combine great graphics with great stories."

Very interesting, especially given that gamers who are unfamiliar with those titles can at least check out a remastered and re-released 20th Anniversary Edition of Out of this World, which just went live on digital distributors a few days ago.

With the crowd-fund complete and a late third or fourth quarter release in tow, things are looking up for Stage 2 Studios.

If you like games like the upcoming Routine or any of the above mentioned titles, you'll probably want to keep an eye on Lifeless Planet. You can learn more by paying a visit to the Official Website.
