Namco Bandai is bringing two Japanese RPGs to North America. Tales of Graces F will be released on the PS3 in 2012 while Tales of the Abyss will hit the 3DS later this year.
Tales of Graces F will be the first game in the Tales franchise to hit the PS3 in this territory. It takes place on the planet of Efinea, where three kingdoms struggle for power. The plot is centered around Asbel Lhant, a knight-in-training and eldest son of a feudal lord.
One of F's most heralded features is the Style Shift Linear Motion Battle System. It allows players to switch between attack styles in the middle of battle. The system's designed to give players more control and more tactical options for combat.
Tales of the Abyss was originally released for the PS2 in 2005. The 3DS iteration, naturally, introduces 3D support. The main character of Abyss is Luke fon Fabre. He's a rich kid whose comfortable existence is abruptly shattered one day. The story follows his transformation from brat to savior of the world.
