On this day next year you'll be getting ready to head out for a midnight screening of Anchorman: The Legend Continues.

Paramount Pictures has announced that the Adam McKay-directed sequel, which is currently being written, will be in theaters on December 20, 2013. It's a sign of confidence in the product from the studio, as it will be facing a great deal of competition. In addition to being only one week after The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, it is now on the same weekend as George Clooney's Monuments Men, Disney's Saving Mr. Banks, the family adventure Walking With The Dinosaurs and Jon Turteltaub's Last Vegas.

While there haven't been many details about the plot revealed, all of the main castmembers - including Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner and Christina Applegate - will be back for part two and it has been confirmed that the movie will have musical numbers. There has also been a rumor floating around saying that the production is interested in having Kristen Wiig play a love interest for Carell's character, but that story has not been confirmed. Just like the last movie, Anchorman: The Legend Continues was co-written by Ferrel and McKay.

When the project was first announced they released two different trailers, one of which you can see below (head over here to see the other one)

It's still hard to believe that after a full decade we'll finally be getting an Anchorman sequel. Are you excited? What would you like to see in the movie? Let us know in the comments below.
