Casting For A 30-Year-Old Unknown Superman Begins

Let the next round of wild, frantic and probably incorrect casting speculation begin! According to Deadline, producer Christopher Nolan and director Zack Snyder have started looking for the actor to headline the next Superman film, and the net is wide. Like, really wide. They're aiming a little older than usual, as previously rumored, but the age range is just 28-32. And they're trying to find an unknown, or at least someone who's just on TV and not quite a big star. Yes, both of these facts probably exclude Jon Hamm, so take your fan art and give it up.

With production set to start in June, though, it's unlikely they'll be able to snag any significant TV star, since shows usually go into production for fall seasons later in the summer. So who might be up for it? Deadline suggests Ian Somerhalder, of The Vampire Diaries and also Lost, or maybe True Blood's Joe Manganiello, who's been on other rumor lists in the past. You guys got any suggestions of your own?
