Favreau And Vaughn Resort To Comedy

Hooray for friendship! Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau have gone on to so many bigger and better things since starting their acting careers together in the 90s that you might think they'd eventually go their separate ways. But the Swingers stars will be reuniting for another comedy, and even better, they're bringing Jason Bateman along with them.

Vaughn, Favreau, Bateman and Faizon Love will all star in Couples Retreat, what sounds like another spin on the Forgetting Sarah Marshall model of awkward romance in a tropical location. Variety says that Favreau wrote the script and Peter Billingsley will direct the story of four couples who go to a tropical resort-- one of them to work on their marriage, and the others to have fun. Apparently in this hellish resort, though, couples therapy is mandatory.

The downside to the casting of this awesome boys club, of course, is that there will have to be female counterparts for all of them-- likely to be shoved aside and given little to do other than look hot or, if they really get to have fun, be shrewish. Yeah, I'm being a downer, but we all remember how little fun Rachel McAdams got to have in Wedding Crashers. Maybe they'll shake it up and cast some good comedic actresses, but I'm betting we'll have to content ourselves with laughing at the boys only. At least they picked a great bunch of guys to hog all the screen time.
