Harrison Ford And Asa Butterfield Are Suited Up In Ender's Game Promotional Photo

Ender's Game Graff and Ender

It's all suits and seriousness for the latest promotional photo for Summit's Ender's Game. The image doesn't reveal much about the plot - for those who haven't read the book anyway - but it does showcase the movie's two stars, Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield, who play Colonel Graff and the titular Ender Wiggin in the feature adaptation of the popular sci-fi novel. Directed by Gavin Hood, Ender's Game is set in the future when man is at war with an alien race and the best and brightest children are being trained to fight in the battle.

The above photo arrived earlier this evening via the Ender's Game Facebook page. It depicts Ford's Graff as the stern but not uncaring colonel, who's keeping a close eye on Butterfield's Ender, one of the gifted children recruited by the International Fleet to prepare for the approaching war. Training includes getting suited up and sent into a zero-gravity Battle Room where the kids zap (or technically freeze) one another with flash guns.

Not only do I appreciate that the helmet doesn't obstruct Butterfield's face in the photo, but he also seems to be lost in thought, which is an expression I expect Ender wears quite often.

In addition to Butterfield and Ford, the cast includes Hailee Steinfeld, Aramis Knight, Abigail Breslin, Viola Davis and Ben Kingsley. Ender's Game won't arrive in theaters until November 1, but we've seen more and more promotional content trickling in over the recent months, including photos, a poster and a trailer.
