Did Zack Snyder Shoot The Justice League Post Credits Scene?

Spoiler Warning: It's been two weeks, but for all you slowpokes out there, be warned that spoilers for Justice League's post-credits stinger follow below.

Justice League is one of the most interesting blockbusters in recent memory. Whatever your thoughts may be on the quality of the film, it's been fascinating to follow from a moviemaking perspective due to the behind-the-scenes drama and reshoots. This is a major tentpole that is essentially directed by two different people. Both Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon supplied shots for Justice League, which has led to much debate over who filmed what. We'll likely never know all the specifics, but at least we can narrow down one. It looks like Zack Snyder directed that final post-credits scene with Deathstroke and Lex Luthor.

Viewers who stuck around until the very end of Justice League were witness to a post-credits scene of Deathstroke (Joe Manganiello) meeting Lex Luthor (Jessie Eisenberg) on a yacht. Luthor summoned Deathstroke to propose the idea that they should form their own league now that the heroes have teamed up, potentially teasing Justice League 2. According to the Twitter account DC Films Hub, Zack Snyder has posted a picture of himself on set with Joe Manganiello in-costume to his Vero account. Manganiello only appears in that one scene in Justice League, so this looks like pretty clear evidence that this particular scene was shot by Snyder and not Joss Whedon.

After having finished principal photography, a family tragedy led Zack Snyder to bow out of Justice League. The Avengers director Joss Whedon was put in charge of writing and directing planned reshoots for the blockbuster, shooting what was said to be 15-20% of the finished movie. After seeing the film, that percentage is being debated as it's clear that more than just a little of Justice League was reworked from what was originally intended.

The chopping up of Zack Snyder's original vision for Justice League has led some fans to create a petition for Warner Bros. to release a "Zack Snyder approved cut" of the movie. The petition has over 100,000 signatures (one of which apparently includes Snyder's), but it's still highly debatable over whether or not such a cut will ever be produced. However, behind-the-scenes details have been leaking recently, such as a scene meant to introduce Iris West and what was going on with the infamous mustache debacle. It could only be a matter of time before someone spills all the beans about who shot what.

Justice League is currently in theaters right now. For all future releases from DC Films (there's a LOT of them), make sure to check out our DC movie release guide. Make sure to stick with CinemaBlend and we'll keep you updated with new movie information as soon as it becomes available.
