Check Out Hugh Jackman And Patrick Stewart Reuniting After Logan

It feels like a lifetime ago, but Logan was actually only released earlier this year in March. Directed by James Mangold, the superhero movie impressed critics with its emotional, brutal, and intimate portrayal of the last days of the X-Men's Wolverine. Logan was also notable for being the final appearance of Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart as their famous characters, Wolverine and Charles Xavier. Though the two of them may be done appearing in X-Men movies together, Jackman and Stewart still get to hang out in real life. The two recently reunited for a nice food date, as seen in the social media post below.

Awards season has officially begun and Logan has a legitimate chance at snagging an Oscar nomination. Both Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart gave great final performances, and while we wonder if they will get any awards recognition for their work, the two longtime co-stars are taking the opportunity to hang out. Jackman shared a photo to his Twitter account of himself and Stewart at a restaurant together. The Logan star wrote in the caption "father and son reunion," melting the hearts of X-Men fans the world over.

Back in 2000, when the first X-Men movie released, Hugh Jackman was still a relative unknown; his casting as Logan/Wolverine was, in fact, his first major film role. Jackman has spoken about the experience before, mentioning that when he was overwhelmed by the scope of the production, Patrick Stewart (and Ian McKellan) gave him advice and mentored him through the film. Stewart and Jackman have become good friends over the years, and it's nice to see the two still get time catch up every once in a while.

If you need any evidence of the bromance between these two men, watch this video of Hugh Jackman laughing to tears over Patrick Stewart telling a story about how he may or may not be circumcised.

While Jackman and Stewart are likely done with the world of the X-Men, the world is not yet done with the X-Men. A new X-Men film, X-Men: Dark Phoenix is making it's way to theaters in fall 2018 and will be an adaption of an iconic storyline from the comics, wherein Jean Grey is driven mad by her growing powers. On the lighter side of things, Deadpool 2 is also on the way. Directed by David Leitch, the hilarious-looking sequel will add fan-favorite Cable (played by Josh Brolin) to the mix.

Remember to keep your fingers crossed for an Oscar nomination for Logan! While you wait for awards announcements, you can also check out our guide to every X-Men film release coming out over the next couple of years.
