Fifty Shades Freed hit theaters this weekend, bringing to life some key scenes from the books. One of these scenes actually happened to be one of Dakota Johnson's favorites. The Fifty Shades franchise actress spoke out about her favorite moment while filming, noting that the scene she really enjoyed was one where Ana argued with Christian while changing her clothing.
It's a scene where Anastasia finds out she's pregnant. And she's in her closet and she gets into an argument with Christian. [She] kind of is extremely vocal and honest about it while getting dressed. So, she's putting clothes on and sort of figuratively covering up and protecting herself while speaking her truth, which I think is pretty special.
It's interesting that Dakota Johnson chooses this scene as her favorite in all three Fifty Shades movies. Although the films allowed her to go to unique places and film different types of activities, it's a scene where Christian and Ana are arguing while she changes for the work day that resonates with her. The scene in question features Ana making relevant points while she grabs her clothes, her bra and other apparel and gets ready for the day. It's one of the movies few scenes with casual nudity and it seems to have resonated with Johnson.
In her interview with Kevin McCarthy, Dakota Johnson reveals this scene has been her favorite for a while, as both Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed were shot back-to-back. However, she didn't want to say anything specific about the scene on the press tour for the last movie, because she didn't want to spoil the movie fans who weren't also totally into E.L. James' books.
Fifty Shades Freed features a lot of nudity, and there are a couple of scenes that include casual nudity rather than nudity that relates to sex scenes. It's interesting because while the audience and fanbase for Fifty Shades Freed is mostly female, all three films chose to show viewers plenty of Dakota Johnson's boobs but no full-frontal shots of actor Jamie Dornan. Dornan has previously spoken out about the lack of male nudity in the films, noting that he felt it wasn't essential to the story.
