Are The Spice Girls Performing At The Royal Wedding?
There's a decent chance we're getting a new Spice Girls concert very soon, at the behest of the royal family. As it was revealed on The Real today, Mel B. (i.e. Scary Spice) and the rest of the Spice Girls were cordially asked to attend the royal wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Does that mean they're going to perform during the lavish proceedings? Mel B. is playing coy. But, based on her response, it's certainly a possibility.
The rumor came during the latest episode of the daytime talk show, which recently welcomed Mel. B as a guest. When the ladies were discussing the upcoming Royal Wedding, Mel B. was asked if she knew anyone who was invited to the event. She nodded and quietly said that she was going to attend. Shortly after this information came out, albeit apprehensively on Mel. B's part, she revealed that the invitation was for the five Spice Girls. That's when the big question came out: are the Spice Girls performing at the reception? Mel B. shook her head, knowing what was to come, but she didn't say no. From there, the fellow co-hosts lost their minds, seemingly reading between the lines. Mel B. tried to cover her tracks, but by that point, it was too late.
In the midst of all this televised craziness, Mel B. urged her fellow hosts and the crowd to act like that "never happened," worrying that she was going to get fired from the incredible gig. But as far as we know, the Spice Girls haven't been given the boot yet. Check out the clip for yourself down below.
For that time being, we're best treat this as a rumor -- even if it's very likely to happen. If they make their way onto the stage at this event, it'll serve as The Spice Girls' first concert together in years. It's sure to be an incredible event -- if unfortunately a pretty darn exclusive one. But let's not rule out the possibility of a potential reunion tour in the midst, as the girls have quite recently expressed the desire to go back on tour with one another. But they also shut down those rumors.
If the potential wedding gig is successful, there's hopefully a chance that the girls will be reunited professionally in the future. Although historically there have been reports that not every former Spice Girl was willing to reunite with the band. Maybe Victoria Beckham has changed her tune?
In addition to Mel B., the Spice Girls include Victoria Beckham (i.e. Posh Spice), Geri Halliwell (i.e. Ginger Spice), Emma Bunton (i.e. Baby Spice) and Melanie C. (i.e. Sporty Spice). It's too early to confirm the Spice Girls are back together again, but we can assume the time is coming sooner than later!
