Watch Gabrielle Union And Jada Pinkett Smith Finally Bury The Hatchet

Gabrielle Union Breaking In Jada Pinkett Smith Gotham

The hatchet has been buried. Jada Pinkett Smith and Gabrielle Union haven't been extra friendly to one another in a little while, but the performers are willing to let bygones be bygones. At least, that's what Jada claimed in the newest episode of her Facebook talk show series, Red Table Talk, where the Gotham actress was joined by the Breaking In star for an honest discussion about their wavering friendship. Similar to Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, they've been more frenimes than friends in recent years, but as they've gotten older, they've grown more receptive to the act of forgiveness and moving on to brighter days. While Gabrielle Union and Jada Pinkett Smith weren't as close as those two pop singers were before they officially had bad blood, they were still friendly before they weren't on speaking terms. Now, they're discussing their disagreements through the conversational Facebook web series. Check it out!

As Jada Pinkett Smith notes in Red Table Talk episode, she and Gabrielle Union were more "great associates" with a dissolved relationship than "girlfriend." Nevertheless, they haven't been on speaking terms for close to 17 years. That's nearly two whole decades apart, and Jada Pinkett Smith wants to mend the wound that came between them. Here's the talk show program where they attempt to heal.

The brand new episode, titled "Girls Trippin'," brought Gabrielle Union to the red table to allow the actress to air out her grievances with Jada Pinkett Smith, the conversation moderator. The actresses admit that they weren't feuding necessarily, but things between them were pretty tense. They claim to be unclear about what caused the divide between them, but they're willing to let their squabbles pass.

While both actresses seem unclear as to how their separation began, it appears that Jada Pinkett Smith stopped contact with Gabrielle Union at one point. Union also admits to her own role in the separation, as she didn't pick up the phone to build a bridge with Smith either. Ultimately Jada does seem to be feeling guilt about the years gone by, as she said in the video:

This is a very special show for me, because what I decided to do was make this about creating a new girlfriend. Gab and I, we had a bit of a break, we don't know how, and she's been open to this healing, she's been open to this conversation. It felt so good on the phone with you to even just go, 'Hey, I'm sorry that I didn't even take the time to talk to you,' you know?. And then I had to just apologize and just thinking to myself, 'Damn, Jada! That was some petty ass shit!' But at the same time going, 'Well, that's where you were then. Thank God you're someplace else now.'

Thankfully, any ill-feelings between Gabrielle Union and Jada Pinkett Smith are behind them now, and they're ready to become girlfriends. We're glad they had such a candid opportunity to express their differences and find peace, all these years later. Meanwhile, this episode is far from the first time Smith has opened up about her personal struggles. She recently discussed the difficulties of her hair loss.
