Watch The Rock Surprise His Stunt Double With A New Car

Working with The Rock has its perks. That's something the actor's mainstay stunt double can attest to. Tanoai Reed has been Dwayne Johnson's stunt double for quite some time. In fact, Reed has been by The Rock's side since the beginning; he worked with the A-lister on The Scorpion King, his first leading role, all the way back in 2002. With nearly two decades of stunt work with The Rock on his resume, the wrestler-turned-actor believed he needed to pay Reed back. It's never easy to be a stunt double, let alone The Rock's stunt double. That's why Johnson decided to go the extra mile and give Tanaoi Reed a car. Yep. That's certainly a good way to say, "Thank you." As seen in the video below, The Rock decided to repay the long-standing stunt double for his years of hard work by giving him a brand new car. And Reed appreciated it very much. Check out the heartwarming video below.

As seen in the Instagram video posted above, Dwayne Johnson's long-term stunt double Tanoai Reed just returned to set after an injury occurred. They don't specify which set it is, but The Rock is believed to be shooting Jungle Cruise at the moment with Emily Blunt, so that's likely where they are now. In the clip, Reed believes he's simply shooting a regular behind-the-scenes clip for The Rock's followers. Nothing particularly special. So, that's what makes the moment even more surprising when The Rock reveals that this isn't your average behind-the-scenes update for the fans. Instead, it's a moment to capture Reed's genuine reaction on camera when The Rock wheels a new car for his regular stunt double, courtesy of "Dwanta Claus."

As Dwayne Johnson mentions in the video, this gesture is only a small token of his appreciation. Tanoai Reed has given his blood, sweat, tears and lots and lots of hard work on The Rock's behalf, and Johnson believes that giving him the keys to his own truck was the least he could do to repay Reed for 17 years of dedication and commitment to his underappreciated craft. Sure enough, as Reed wiped the tears from his eyes and gave The Rock the biggest hug he could provide, it's clear this gift was very much appreciated, and Johnson was most certainly happy to provide the love.

Tanoai Reed and Dwayne Johnson have worked together on a variety of different projects over the years, including The Rundown, Get Smart, The Game Plan, Race to Witch Mountain; The Other Guys, San Andreas, and the Fas and The Furious franchise. He was also seen in Hercules, Central Intelligence, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and, most recently, this April's Rampage, to only name a handful of their projects. And they'll continue working with each other for the foreseeable future, based on this token of appreciation. Meanwhile, we'll keep you posted on all The Rock's developments right here at CinemaBlend.
