Jennifer Lopez Opens Up About Relationship Failures

Jennifer Lopez - Shades of Blue

It's no secret that Jennifer Lopez has fallen in and out of love before... often in a rather public fashion. Like many of us, JLo has loved and lost. But it is often a bigger media storm when something happens in Lopez's love life than when most people find themselves smitten or heartbroken. It is safe to say that Lopez's romantic findings and failures have been at the center of several media stories in the past too, and JLo likes to think that she learned a great deal from the times when her romances did not ultimately pan out. Looking back on her past romances, Lopez had the following to say:

For me, the relationship journey has been very up and down. But it didn't have to do with anybody else but me -- it was about me figuring out me. Until you learn to love yourself, you can't completely love [someone else] in a way that is pure and true. Once you do that, you can have relationships that are based on love and respect, that are supportive and nourishing. There's an evolution there that had to happen for me. I feel like I'm in a better place now.

Jennifer Lopez's reflective comments about her past romances and their ultimate failures came during her most recent interview with Harper's Bazaar. She was interviewed to talk about her latest film, Second Act, which came out in December. But the conversation, as you would expect, ultimately went back to her personal life-- specifically her romantic ventures. And when looking back from this point in her life, Lopez believes she has "evolved."

When it comes to love, Jennifer Lopez remains committed to Alex Rodriguez. They have been dating for a good bit of time, although they are reportedly not looking to tie the knot anytime soon. It seems they are both happy to keep things as they are right now, and they have both been married before. It was said by Lopez earlier last year that marriage is not something that interests the actress/musician at this time, although she stresses that one should never say never about these matters. If there comes a time when they decide to walk down the aisle, we'll likely be sure to know about it soon enough.

With that, there is a lot that will be said -- and written -- about Jennifer Lopez's love life in the future. She accepts that, knowing that she has evolved from her past romances and continues to evolve with each day on this planet. She is not the same woman she was before, and she continues to grow.
