Chris Pratt Sees Less Work And More Kids In His Future

Chris Pratt - Jurassic World

Chris Pratt is a busy man. The A-list actor keeps himself occupied through a number of high-profile blockbusters, and it seems that he has a blooming career in his wake that continues to rise with each new project. But Pratt is a family man at heart. As much as glitz and glamor of Hollywood might help him provide food on the table (and then some), the actor is ultimately more interested in building a family than building a career at this current moment.

That's what Chris Pratt claims, at least, during an interview promoting his newest film, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part-- where he reprises the role of Emmet Brickowski from 2014's hit animated film. Turns out, while he continues to field projects left-and-right, he's setting his sights on having kids.

The future? Oh. Lots of kids. Maybe less time spent working, more time spent enjoying life. I always want to be that guy that works to live, not lives to work. I think [I want to spend] just a lot of time at the farm and a lot of time catching a lot of fish and seeing lots of sunsets.

The comment came during an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight. It was only a few weeks ago when Chris Pratt confirmed the news that he's engaged to his new girlfriend, Katherine Schwarzenegger. And it sounds like once they are officially wed, they are going to have a heap of kids. If things go according to plan for Pratt, that is. While he's still keeping himself busy as an actor, particularly with his involvement with Marvel, the actor is hoping to build upon his family life in the years to come. And if that means sacrificing a few roles in order to spend time with the family, then so be it.

Of course, his response is filled with "maybes," so maybe don't rule out the possibility of Chris Pratt keeping focused on his day job -- especially if it helps bring home a whole lot of cash. Pratt's profile is on the up-and-up, and if things keep going well for the rising actor, then maybe that's where he will keep interests. But it sounds like building an extended family life with Katherine Schwarzenegger is Pratt's plan for the future, and we shouldn't be surprised to hear a few baby announcements once Schwarzenegger and Pratt get married sometime later this year.

It's unclear how long Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt have been dating, but rumors suggest it's been six months. The relationship was confirmed back in December, but it's known they were dating for a little while before the announcement. But the couple is most definitely not wasting time when it comes to professing their love, and it might not be long before they confirm their family life is officially blooming. We'll keep you posted.

Chris Pratt already has one son with his previous wife, Anna Faris. In their divorce settlement, Pratt and Faris agreed to live no further than five miles apart from each other, for the best interest of 6-year-old Jack Pratt. The settlement was agreed upon until Jack is 12-years-old, though it sounds like Chris Pratt will want to stay close to his son in the interest of remaining a tight knit family man in the years to come. Because family is his main focus.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part hits theaters on February 8th.
