Mel Gibson Gives Daughter Away To Rocker

Mel Gibson may have lost the respect of a very persnickety Hollywood over his recent drunken rantings, but now he's lost something even worse: his little girl.

OK, maybe he didn't lose a daughter so much as he gained a son-in-law. At Hannah, 26, Gibson's oldest offspring and only daugter, took the vows this weekend with rock-n-roller Kenny Wayne Shepherd, 29.

According to People Online the two met at one of his concerts in Shreveport and were engaged while traveling in Rome back on New Year's Eve of 2004. "She is just a young lady with a sweet personality. She is very sincere. Very mannerly." said Shepherd of his bride-to-be, "I think it is a perfect match. It is a special relationship."

No word yet on whether or not Mel wept during the ceremony. At least now we know why he shaved off that creepy beard. I would guess its demise was a prerequisite for being allowed to walk his baby girl down the aisle.
