Ozzy Osbourne Admits He's Been Doing Drugs, Apologizes To Family

Rather than let the speculation about his marriage and his personal life continue to run rampant, Ozzy Osbourne decided to personally set the record straight yesterday. He’s been taking drugs and hitting the bottle pretty hard lately. That lack of sobriety has affected his relationships with his children, his wife, his bandmates and his fans, but he quit about a month and a half ago and is working toward being a better person.

Here’s a portion of the official statement he wrote on Facebook

“For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an asshole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober. “

Ozzy and his wife Sharon recently moved out of their home, and rumors have raged that they’re living apart. Ozzy doesn’t directly address that in his statement, but he does make it clear that whatever is going on is his fault and he’s working on fixing it. That’s a big first step toward starting the healing process.

With any luck, whatever wounds were inflicted will eventually heal between these two, and they’ll be able to get back to focusing on far more important things—like another generation of Osbournes. Pop Blend’s sincerest thoughts go out to Ozzy and company in their quest.
