New York Deli Names A Sandwich After Tim Tebow

At 6 foot 3 and weighing in at roughly 245 pounds, Tim Tebow is not a small guy. Thus, as the New York Jets’ newest big name player, one New York deli is giving him some laud in the form of a giant sandwich. Whether the quarterback could manage to eat the damn thing is another story entirely.

New York’s Carnegie Deli, located on 7th Avenue near 55th street in Midtown has named a lot of celebrity sandwiches over the years, including the deli’s famous “The Woody Allen” which focuses on corned beef and pastrami. Now, the shop has gone out of its way to create an intense sandwich named for the 24 year-old player. Called “The Jetbow,” the sandwich features corned beef, pastrami, and roast beef as its meat choices. Lettuce, tomato, American cheese, white bread and mayonaisse round out the rest of the sandwich, which weighs in at a whopping 3.5 pounds, according to food beast.

The deli is famous for its mustard and rye bread combination with its sandwiches, but for Tebow, some white bread, good ol’ American cheese and mayonnaise seems a little more up the homeschooled player's alley. If anything, it will be a warm welcome for the football player in a brand new city. Besides, what better opportunity for the Carnegie Deli to potentially earn a new photo op? I’m picturing Adam Richman versus Tim Tebow both attacking the 3.5 pound monster sandwich.
