An Arrow Star Just Joined The Cast Of American Horror Story Season 7

Ryan Murphy has a good thing going when it comes to anthology dramas on FX. Season 7 of American Horror Story is currently filming, and we haven't had too much in the way of specific spoilers to go on. Luckily, the showrunner has been pretty open with new castings for the upcoming season. Murphy took to social media to announce the latest, and he happens to come from a superhero background. Check him out!

Colton Haynes of Arrow will be tackling a role in the seventh season of American Horror Story. It will mark the second time that he's worked with Ryan Murphy, following a stint on Scream Queens Season 2. Unfortunately (although not unsurprisingly), Ryan Murphy didn't include a detailed description of Haynes' character in the caption of his Instagram post, so we can only guess at this point. The substance that looks an awful lot like blood is actually reminiscent of a horrifying tease Murphy posted in May that has only just stopped haunting my dreams.

The ghoulish elephant in the tease has a bright red mouth that looks awfully similar to Colton Haynes' in the pic; maybe Haynes is playing the elephant's human form. Who knows? Maybe Haynes is playing some kind of were-elephant and his character turns into an evil-looking elephant every full moon. Haynes does have experience with transforming into supernatural creatures, and it's not like a were-elephant is the weirdest thing American Horror Story has ever done.

All things considered, Season 7 sounds like it will be full of weirdness, even by American Horror Story standards. The action will kick off on the night of the 2016 presidential election, with candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton appearing in stock footage. Something horrible goes down, and then all hell will presumably break loose. Given the fact that the elephant is the symbol of the Republican party, I'm guessing that we'll see some kind of murder donkey to represent the Democrats to keep the evil elephant company.

We still don't know much about the characters who will drive the frights in Season 7, but we do know a number of the actors who will fill the cast. American Horror Story veterans Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will be back for more horror. Newcomers to the cast will include comedian Billy Eichner, Scream Queens alum Billie Lourd, and Popular actress Leslie Grossman in addition to Colton Haynes. We'll have to wait and see how the newbies fit into Ryan Murphy's style of horror anthology. Who can say at this point? Perhaps Colton Haynes is destined to be the next actor to return time and time again to Ryan Murphy anthologies.
