Jersey Shore Is Coming Back With Original Cast For New MTV Series

Hold the duck phone, everybody. Five years after saying farewell to T-shirt Time, Jersey Shore fans should feel the need to get those fists pumping, because MTV is legitimately bringing (almost) the entire gang back together. Not just for a one-off special, either, but a brand new series being dubbed Jersey Shore Family Vacation. Can this gang actually retain the charismatic-misfits vibe of the show's original run, at a point where some are parents and some have gone sober? We'll get to see in 2018.

Capitalizing on the return of the Shore brand with the debut of the Southern offshoot Floribama Shore, MTV actually made its Jersey Shore Family Vacation announcement during the spinoff's premiere, and you can bet fans were berserk over the news. We're assuming the project is in the earliest stages -- not that there are a slew of complications involved with crafting this pitch -- because there weren't many other details embedded in the initial greenlight announcement. But we know that the returning cast members include Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Jenni "JWOWW" Farley, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul "Pauly D" Delvecchio and Vinny Guadagnino. So the only two absentee members are Samantha "Sweetheart" Giancola and Angelina Pivarnick, perhaps not so surprisingly.

Check out the very first promo that aired during the Floribama Shore premiere.

Will the gang be heading back to their former haunts to reflect on their collective rise to fame, possibly while doing keg stands behind the bar? Will this be more of a road trip vibe, where the gang gets to take a party bus up the East Coast, possibly while doing Jäger bombs while road-surfing on the bus' hood? Will we get to see the new and returning family members for the central stars? So many questions. So much laundry to do.

Jersey Shore ran for six seasons from 2009-2012, and while different members of the cast have worked together on different things over the years -- not to mention keeping in touch as friends -- there hasn't been an official Jersey Shore comeback on MTV. We've seen Snooki & JWOWW, Nicole & Jionni's Shore Flip, The Pauly D Project, and several members of the cast have appeared in a variety of other reality series. We thought an official Jersey Shore comeback was happening earlier this year, but it ended up being a strange Burger King commercial and a reunion special on E! But those apparently stoked everyone's thirsts for more Ron-Ron Juice, because we're heading back soon.

Get the hot tub warmed up and completely sanitized, because Jersey Shore Family Vacation is coming to MTV in 2018. While waiting for more info, check out the Jersey Shore quote that Ronnie Ortiz-Magro told us fans can't stop yelling at him, and then head to our 2018 midseason premiere schedule to see what new and returning shows you'll be able to catch up with in the coming months.
