Subscribe To How Nashville's Cast Celebrated Wrapping The Final Episode Updates
All good things must come to an end, and the wild ride that has been Nashville will conclude in the not-too-distant future. The show survived low ratings, a cancellation, a move to another network, cast turnover, and the killing off of a major character, and it will finally air its final episode this summer on CMT. The second half of Season 6 will hopefully wrap up loose ends, finish off characters stories, and ideally not end on another killer cliffhanger. The cast has officially finished filming the final episode, and they took to social media to celebrate the journey that has been working on Nashville over the years. Take a look:
Lennon Stella was only 13 years old when she and younger sister Maisy began work on Nashville as Maddie and Daphne Conrad, respectively. After filming her final scene ever for the show, Lennon was apparently in the mood for a blast from the past, and she shared a photo of her very first scene on her very first day on Nashville. It makes for a cute look back at a more innocent time, although Lennon mentions in her caption that she doesn't want to look at pictures from Season 1 due to the awkwardness of early teenage years. At least we can be happy that she posted this one!
Sam Palladio, a.k.a. Gunnar Scott, shared an image of him gearing up to play his final song on Nashville. Palladio wrote the song himself with his friends, and we can bet that it will be a song to remember if it's how he's ending his time on the show. We obviously can't say just yet how the final performance will go, but it's nice to at least see that his hair will be defying gravity as well as ever for the scene.
Chris Carmack chose to share a video from the end of his time on Nashville. In the quick clip, he shows what remains of Will and Gunnar's first place together. As this was a TV show, the set was also used for a number of other locations. Sadly, by the time Carmack filmed his video, all that remained was the floor. If that's not a sign that everything was truly ending, I'm not sure what could have been.
Charles Esten, who has played Deacon Claybourne for the six seasons of the series, took a shot of his last day on set. He was enjoying a cup of coffee at the piano, hopefully also enjoying a quiet moment before his final day of shooting kicked off. It must have been a truly emotional day after so many years.
Emotional ride aside, not everything about the end of Nashville was sad for the cast. Everybody seems to have had fun at the wrap party, as we can tell thanks to the photo shared by Ed Amatrudo, who played Glenn Goodman. Hayden Panettiere has a big smile, which is always nice to see given the rough ride she's had as Juliette.
Nashville will return to CMT with its midseason premiere on Thursday, June 7 at 9 p.m. ET, and the series finale will air on Thursday, July 26 at 9 p.m. ET.
