Netflix has given fans the chance to feast their eyes on the first official images from Netflix's "chilling" new take on Sabrina the Teenage Witch. A few months ago, Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa gave fans a pivotal peek at the series with a picture of Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina and Ross Lynch as Sabrina's boyfriend Harvey. That initial glimpse is now eclipsed by these haunting images that show off Chilling Adventures of Sabrina's evocative cinematography. Take a look at Sabrina in full costume:

The first picture of Sabrina features her in full focus rocking a red coat amidst a blurry forest in the background. The camera stunningly captures Sabrina's penchant for crimson in the top picture. There is an undoubtedly ominous tinge to the photo, and if you picked up on that, there is a good reason. According to Netflix, the series will imagine the origin story and subsequent adventures of its eponymous character with a dark edge that trades in horror, the occult, and the obvious -- witchcraft.

As for Sabrina, she will enter the series struggling to reconcile her polar natures as a witch and a mortal. And, as if she does not have enough on her plate, she will also be fighting the forces of evil. Such is a day's work for a Teenage Witch. While the first picture conjures Little Red Riding Hood, the next picture touches more heavily upon the witchy side of Sabrina's existence. Check out the second glimpse of the series below:

The second image is from a scene of Sabrina's dark baptism by Richard Coyle's Father Blackwood. You can also see Sabrina's aunts Hilda (Lucy Davis) and Zelda (Miranda Otto). Based on these initial images, it is safe to say that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has a nice hold on its world. The photography is impressive with dark golden light tinging the second image in a subtle manner.

The first two images Netflix released also call back to what the streamer mentions as one of the themes at the core of the series. The first picture highlights Sabrina in a more mortal sense as someone exploring a forest, whereas the second image shows Sabrina fully immersed in her life as a witch. These two polarized worlds are visually separated in these pictures, albeit bound to clash with each other on the show.

Netflix has already greenlit Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for two seasons. A premiere date for Season 1 has yet to be announced by the streamer, so stay tuned.
