Fans of Netflix's smash hit Stranger Things have a while to wait before the new season begins. Thankfully, Emmy-nominated star David Harbour is teasing what fans can expect in Season 3. And as you might imagine, the events of Season 2 will have noticeable impact on where Season 3 finds Hawkins' beloved police chief. Teasing what Hopper will be up to in Season 3, David Harbour says:

In terms of Hopper, all the things that we've had from Season 1 and Season 2 come to a boiling point for him in the beginning of Season 3. It's really interesting to watch, because we've sort of cleared up the main problem. You see in the end of Season 2 that the Upside Down is still kind of there, but we really sort of solved it. We closed the gate. So, this is a year for Hopper of real domesticity. Eleven's been validated, she has a birth certificate. She's a part of the world in some way. It's really how Hopper deals with domestic issues, like real day-to-day stuff . . .So, what that does to him is very, very interesting. We'll start to really understand a lot more about what he needs and what he doesn't have and who he wants to be that might take him in different directions.

How long the apparently blissful bout of domesticity, David Harbour teases to Vanity Fair, will last is the question on many minds. Domesticity has its bright spots, so what Harbour is teasing sounds assuring. It should also be a relief to fans desiring that Stranger Things not wash, rinse, and repeat its plotlines that Season 3 will vary mightily from its previous installments. It is a switch up fans are probably used to by now.

Thanks to Stranger Things already having two seasons under its belt, it has already had the chance to prove how it maneuvers season-to-season. As for Season 3, David Harbour has already revealed that the show will be putting off some major Fletch feelings. That tidbit came after the actor had previously teased that fans should look to movies released in 1985 to prepare for the essence of Season 3.

As for the change in direction David Harbour teased Season 3 would bring for Hopper, we may have a slight guess on what that could entail. Among the things, the fan-favorite has previously teased is Hopper potentially getting some much-needed romance in Season 3. While the interviewer in his new sit-down attempted to drill down whether Hopper and Joyce would embark on a relationship, Harbour craftily side-stepped the spoiler-laden question.

He followed up what read as a humorous "Uh" by reiterating that a love life is the one thing Hopper still does not have. Harbour shared that while viewers have seen Hopper as a father and working as a cop, they still have not seen him in romance mode. Will Season 3 be the one that ends the will-they- won't-they pull between Hopper and Joyce?

There is only one way to know for sure, and that's by watching. Fans still have plenty of time to speculate as to whether Season 3 will be the one Hopper and Joyce finally get together in.
