Netflix's Central Park Five Adds Joshua Jackson And A Blacklist Alum

The cast of director Ava DuVarnay's Netflix miniseries Central Park Five has expanded with the casting of other crucial roles. Among them are The Affair's Joshua Jackson, as well as a Bull star, and a Random Act of Flyness actress. And, they are not the only actors who have been added to the miniseries' cast.

The drama has added a bevy of names to the miniseries along with the ones already mentioned, per Deadline. So, who are they and who are they starring as? Well, Joshua Jackson will be playing one of the Central Park Five's attorneys. The actor will portray Antron McCray's lawyer, Mickey Joseph, in the drama. As previously announced, Michael K. Williams of The Wire and Boardwalk Empire will portray Antron McCray's father in the miniseries.

Blair Underwood Quantico ABC

Also joining the cast in the role of one of the Central Park Five's legal counsel is one of the stars of the now-concluded ABC drama Quantico. Blair Underwood will portray Bobby Burns, the attorney for Yusef Salaam, per Broadway World.

Famke Janssen The Blacklist NBC

Also boarding the miniseries in the role of an attorney in the legal drama is The Blacklist's Famke Janssen. Janssen will portray prosecutor Nancy Ryan. Ryan led the reinvestigation into the initial case. The findings of the investigation ultimately resulted in the Central Park Five's convictions being overturned in 2002.

William Sadler Power Starz

The latest casting news does not solely involve the legal realm of the drama, though. Other vital castings include a detective, community leaders, and the girlfriend to one of the Central Park Five. Power's William Sadler will play NYPD detective Michael Sheehan, but few other details were given about his role.

Omar Dorsey Queen Sugar OWN

Queen Sugar's Omar Dorsey will play Elombre Brath, a community leader. He is also the husband of Harlem activist Nomsa Berth, who will be played by Random Act of Flyness's Adepero Oduye. Rounding out the new castings are Into the Dark's Aurora Perrineau, who will portray Raymond Santana's girlfriend, Tanya. Perrineau is the daughter of Lost star Harold Perrineau. Other roles cast include Raymond Santana's attorney, Peter Rivera. Rivera will be portrayed by Bull star Christopher Jackson in the Netflix series.

The miniseries will begin in 1989 and follow the case until 2014. With this latest round of casting news it is clear that production is well underway on the drama. The new cast members join an ensemble that already includes Bates Motel's Vera Farmiga, Waco's John Leguizamo's, and American Crime's Felicity Huffman. Central Park Five is slated to premiere in 2019 on Netflix.
