Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club follows her effort to run a successful vacation spot in Mykonos, Greece, with the help of young professionals from around the United States. As for why the business' location and beach were chosen, the actress revealed it played an emotional and heavy part of her past. Lohan decided on the location after becoming a victim of domestic violence on that same beach years prior.

I was in a very tumultuous relationship and I was in a different place in my life. Instead of crying or getting angry, I said I'm gonna own this beach one day because I always want everyone to feel safe.

The man that assaulted Lindsay Lohan was her ex-fiance Egor Tarabasov. The incidents, which took place in 2016, were said by Lohan to have happened twice and police were called after a kid witnessed the abuse. Lindsay Lohan revealed during Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club that her purchasing of the beach and building the resort was her way of taking back a moment that could've scarred her memory of the location permanently.

With that backstory, it's understandable why Lindsay Lohan wants her venture to be a success, and why she's so rough on the people selected to work there. Following an exchange with the cast where many were dishevelled and drunk during a surprise visit, Lohan broke down and expressed her fear that these new additions could end up sinking a dream that meant so much to her:

I made it something that is meaningful to me. When I went [to the resort] the first night with my mom, nothing was finished yet. It was just the sign. She started crying, she was in awe...she was just really happy for me and I don't want these kids fucking that up for me and my future.

The cast certainly didn't appear as though they were there to work, and instead spent their first night on the island partying as if they're a part of some new reality TV program on MTV. To be fair, they are, but it didn't take long for the young bunch to learn that unlike the cast of Jersey Shore Family Vacation, they're on staff to work and not play.

One cast member learned that the hard way when Lindsay Lohan put her in her place and accused her of putting on an act all in an effort to get her own television show. Whether that was the case or not, it sent the message to everyone else this wasn't the typical reality romp, and attitudes quicky changed. One has to wonder how long that will last, however, given the constant presence of alcohol and beauty of Mykonos.

Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club airs on MTV Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. Keep tabs on other things coming to television in the near future by visiting our midseason premiere guide.
