Fixer Upper Chip Gaines Joanna Gaines HGTV

Fans of lifestyle superstars, Chip and Joanna Gaines, are going to have to wait even longer to see their new network. Televisions shows are not the only parts of the entertainment world feeling the impact of these times, because, just as the TV season is ending early, other aspects are feeling the impact, as well. Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Network is getting delayed. Thankfully, there is some good news.

Here's what happened. The Magnolia Network was originally set to launch on October 4. Despite the distance between now and that date, Magnolia Network’s fall debut has been delayed as the industry’s response to our current health crisis continues. A new launch date has not been announced yet. That does not mean you will be without Chip and Joanna Gaines, though.

The Fixer Upper power couple will be hosting Magnolia Presents: A Look Back & A Look Ahead. A 4-hour special on the DIY Network starting at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 26. In it, they will look back at past episodes of the smash-hit series they decided to end back in 2017. On Instagram, Joanna Gaines promoted the marathon:

While taking a look back at the past, Chip and Joanna Gaines will also give fans a glimpse into the Magnolia Network’s future. For a refresher, last year it was announced that Chip and Joanna Gaines would be launching a reboot of the DIY Network. When it does debut, Magnolia Network will be home to a bevy of content.

It will eventually include a show starring Chip and Joanna, themselves. The four-hour marathon is not the only time Joanna Gaines has promoted the upcoming network. Earlier this April, Joanna Gaines debuted a cooking special that aired on the Food Network, which was a sample of what is to come on Gaines’ culinary series for the Magnolia Network.

As for the four-hour marathon is set to begin on Sunday, April 26, at 5 p.m. ET, you can count on lots of interesting things to come. Those four hours will be filled with “never-before-seen footage” from Chip and Joanna Gaines, as well as some behind-the-scenes stories about Fixer Upper. Will they get into why they left the show? Or, has that been explained enough at this point?

Time will tell. Fans of the couple will get to catch a glimpse at ten of the upcoming originals set to fill the slate at Magnolia. So, that is a lot to consider when you are looking for something to watch this weekend. Chip and Joanna Gaines could have you covered.

While fans of the couple will have to wait even longer to see Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Network come to fruition, they do have this marathon to help satiate them. The excitement around it has been building for a long time. Hopefully, this wait does not extend too far past the original launch date.

Tune in to Magnolia Presents: A Look Back & A Look Ahead with Chip and Joanna Gaines when it airs Sunday, April 26, at 5 p.m. ET on the DIY Network. Yes, the network that Magnolia will replace. In the meantime, this spring's premieres should also help fill the void.
