Flip Or Flop's Christina Anstead Candidly Reflects On Getting A Second Divorce

Fans of Flip or Flop and Christina on the Coast star Christina Anstead were shocked a few days ago when it was announced that she and her second husband, Anthony "Ant" Anstead, had decided to split after less than two years of marriage, making this her second very public divorce in just a few years. Having another divorce so soon after the first has to be hard on anyone, so, as you might imagine, Anstead has been doing some reflecting on her life ahead of her second divorce, and decided to share her candid thoughts with fans recently.

The HGTV home renovation host famously divorced first husband Tarek El Moussa while they were working on Flip or Flop, and the two have gone on to continue renovating homes and filming that show together even after the split. While Christina and Ant Anstead do have a young son, it's anyone's guess right now as to whether or not we'll see Ant pop up on Christina on the Coast again, should it get another season. The main thing for Anstead now is to figure out how to move on, and she's starting the process by reflecting on her life over the past few years.

Christina Anstead took to Instagram recently with a lengthy post to share what's been going through her mind as she heads into her second divorce, and after talking a bit about how she got her start working with real estate, went on to open up about her life, saying, in part:

I live in a state of anxiousness and I’m so used to it that when it’s not there I tend to feel a void and hop into something that causes the feeling I’m used to. This can be good and bad. And it’s one of the things I’m working on breaking the pattern of. Sometimes anxiety and pursuit of new dreams leads me down amazing paths, other times it leaves me feeling lost and in a state of fight or flight / or crying in my closet.

While Christina Anstead didn't directly say that her marriage to Ant Anstead was the result of one of these jumps into something anxiety-producing that she realizes she tends to take, she may at least be wondering at this point if that is a possibility. She goes on to say that while she's grateful for what being on TV has brought to her life, it's also brought her plenty she simply didn't expect, noting:

Sometimes our calling is bigger than our plans. I never thought I would have one divorce let alone two. I never thought I would have 2 baby daddies - but sometimes life throws us curve balls. Instead of getting stuck in these “setbacks” I choose to look at these challenges as opportunities to grow...I’m messy, I’m real and I’m working on healing...I’m taking time to clear the “noise” and focus on myself and the kids. I appreciate the support and I hope my story inspires you to not be so hard on yourself for the decisions / choices you’ve made. We are all a work in progress.

Hear, hear! This is clearly a very hard time for Christina Anstead, but it does, at least, sound like she's doing the work on herself necessary so that she can piece together the decisions she's made recently with the motivations behind them. It's always tough to do, but will (hopefully) mean that she can come out of this divorce stronger and more aware of what she needs, as well as what her not-so-healthy patterns are, so that she's able to move forward in life with greater ease.

You can see Christina Anstead on Season 3 of Christina on the Coast right now, with Season 9 of Flip or Flop due on October 15. For more on what to watch in the coming weeks, be sure to check out our guide to fall TV.
