The Mandalorian has added a number of cool elements to the Star Wars canon, including fresh characters, intriguing planets and interesting details on Mandalorian culture. Of course, like any Star Wars production, the show also features its share of sweet vehicles and one that became most popular with fans is Din Djarin’s personal ship, the Razor Crest. The ship went through a lot before it was destroyed in the show’s second season, and it is certainly missed. However, one fan has actually managed to build the ship himself, and the result is nothing short of incredible.

Ayaal Fyodorov, a cosplayer and Star Wars fan in Russia, constructed the Razor Crest replica along with his friends during the coronavirus lockdown. The recreation is reported to be 14 meters (45 feet) long and weigh over 1,000 kilograms (over 2200 pounds). Check out the awesome piece of work in the Instagram post down below:

Ayaal Fyodorov and his friends really nailed the design and, according to The Moscow Times, the ship was constructed using photos found on the web. What’s even more impressive is that Fyodorov and his friends actually funded most of the projects themselves. However, he told the state-run TASS news agency (via the trade) that he and his collaborators received some support via social media as well:

When we decided to add more precise details to the cockpit, we realized that we didn’t have enough money but also didn’t want to abandon everything halfway in… Our Instagram followers helped us. When we called for assistance, they helped us raise the needed funds. The Yakutsk IT park, a [local] private company, helped us rent a hangar, the only place where the structure could fit.

With their help, Ayaal Fyodorov and his friends were not only able to craft something that he says is the first replica of its kind, but they were also able to provide a sight for locals to enjoy. At present, the ship sits at a park where fans can come and take pictures with it.

This masterful recreation of the Razor Crest is just further proof of how embedded The Mandalorian has become embedded in pop culture since it debuted in the fall of 2019. Many fans have either cosplayed the characters or tried to recreate certain elements of the show -- and to great effect. Even late Mythbusters star Grant Imahara created a life-size Baby Yoda, which he planned to take around children’s hospitals.

This replica of the Razor Crest really does make one nostalgic for the actual thing, but it’s great to see it’s legacy is well preserved. And we’ll keep you posted regarding what Mando’s new mode of transportation will be in Season 3.
