Why Kaley Cuoco Thinks Making The Flight Attendant Season 2 Will Be Harder Than Season 1

Kaley Cuoco in The Flight Attendant

Kaley Cuoco has earned success at many different stages in her career so far, starting with the sitcom 8 Simple Rules when she was a teenager, peaking with her role in the hugely successful and long-running The Big Bang Theory, and now riding that massive wave with her own production company. The actress and TV producer has already nailed her goal of bringing new stories to the small screen with HBO Max's The Flight Attendant, and she apparently thinks crafting Season 2 is a bigger challenge than making Season 1 happen, but it doesn’t exactly seem like it’s a bad thing.

The Flight Attendant marked a huge moment for Kaley Cuoco, as it was a transition from the end of her time on The Big Bang Theory to the beginning of her post-Penny journey. And as much pressure as she felt trying to follow up on BBT with a completely different show, Cuoco revealed in an interview with WWD that she feels a different kind of stress in trying to follow the first season of her newest series. Here’s what the award winning actress said:

Now I feel like the work really starts; it’s harder because I want to make sure it’s even better than the first. And I think more eyes are going to be on us now. It’s an added pressure, but it’s good. It’s making us really want to come out with some really fun storyline.

Kaley Cuoco already had to get creative when filming Season 1 of The Flight Attendant due to hurdles caused by the pandemic, from hiatuses to safety protocols, and it looks like the extra eyes she'll have on her for Season 2 will inspire her to get even more creative with the series. Honestly, this is pretty much the best problem for Cuoco to have, because it means that she and the rest of the Flight Attendant cast and crew are doing something very right.

Even though her producer-focused career pretty much started with The Flight Attendant, Kaley Cuoco’s company Yes, Norman Production has a number of series under its belt so far, and the company has already signed on more to come. It certainly helps to have a successful HBO Max series that was nominated for a Golden Globe, and is now greenlit for a second season, and it's a good sign that there is more greatness to come.

As much as fans loved the first season of The Flight Attendant, it surely is easy for shows to fall into the renewal trap of repeating the same formula as a popular first season. It’s very clear that Kaley Cuoco has no intention of doing this, and her vocalizing the efforts she is putting towards these challenges are very promising. Cuoco may be relatively new to the production game, but she has been acting in long-running series since her teen years, and she has certainly earned a place at the table with the best of them.

The Flight Attendant Season 1 is currently streaming on HBO Max, which is also where you can find Kaley Cuoco and Yes, Norman's other streaming series, the delightfully R-rated Harley Quinn.
