Arrow Star Stephen Amell Was Reportedly Kicked Off A Flight After Allegedly Screaming At His Wife

Arrow's Stephen Amell sitting on a park bench and having a conversation, looking solemn.

Multiple reports are emerging this morning that Stephen Amell, best known for his eight season run as the lead on Arrow, was allegedly kicked off a plane yesterday after a supposed verbal confrontation with his wife. The couple was flying from Austin to Los Angeles, but he allegedly was removed prior to takeoff by flight attendants and an air marshall. His wife, Cassandra Jean Amell, and their other traveling companions allegedly continued on the flight without him while he stayed back in Texas.

Exactly what happened here is very unclear right now. Both TMZ and Page Six are reporting roughly the same story, which is that Amell and company got on the flight and at some point prior to take off, he started “screaming” at his wife. Both outlets claim he was asked to lower his voice on multiple occasions. When that didn’t happen, he was allegedly kicked off. Each outlet is also saying he “appeared” intoxicated during the incident. Delta has confirmed a flight was briefly delayed due to an issue with a passenger, but the company hasn’t revealed any names or specifics.

The Amells were in Austin as part of the ATX Festival. Cassandra Jean Amell posted a picture from an interview while they were there, and everything seems very pleasant. You can check out the Instagram post below…

Stephen and Cassandra Jean Amell have been married since 2012. They share a daughter named Maverick who was born in 2013. They attracted some headlines last year after an alleged multi-year feud with a neighbor over some construction turned weird with allegations of roof pooping. As in, he accused his neighbor of getting mad and pooping on their roof in a since deleted tweet. It’s unclear how that matter was cleaned up.

There haven’t been any reports of Amell being charged with a crime, nor has anyone directly involved with the alleged incident spoken on the record, (Amell has since released a statement you can read at the bottom of this article) at least apart from the airline confirming an incident on a plane did happen with an unidentified passenger. Because of that, it would be premature to speculate on what the next steps might be or if there will be any fallout.

Stephen Amell’s next project is the upcoming Heels, which marks his first bigger role post-Arrow. The Starz drama follows professional wrestlers working for a small promotion in Georgia. Amell’s casting was very on brand as the actor is a well-known wrestling fan who has made numerous appearances in WWE, AEW and other promotions and is reportedly close with some wrestlers in real life. It’s set to debut in mid-August.

UPDATE: Stephen Amell just released a statement acknowledging he was asked to leave the plane after an argument with his wife. He says he traveled home two hours later on another flight without incident. You can read his statement below...

My wife and I got into an argument Monday afternoon on a Delta flight from Austin to LA. I was asked to lower my voice and I did. Approximately 10 minutes later I was asked to leave the flight. And I did so immediately. I was not forcibly removed. I rebooked myself on a Southwest flight 2 hours later and traveled home without any further issue. I let my emotions get the better of me, end of story. Must be a slow news cycle.
